Handmade ceramic lighting transformed through fire, smoke, copper and reduction. No two pieces emerge the same.
The collection
One of one
Our surfaces are created by the meeting of ceramic, metal, fire, smoke and oxygen. Each piece carries the conditions of its own making.
Produced individually in our Minnesota studio.
Raku creates variation that can’t be precisely repeated.

Inside the firing · Matte Copper
Three moments.
One unrepeatable surface.

A copper-bearing glaze. A kiln at roughly 1,850°F. The ceramic leaves the heat still glowing.

Natural materials ignite around the piece. Flame consumes the oxygen, and copper, smoke and ceramic begin their transformation.

As the piece cools, copper reds, deep blues and earth tones emerge. Its surface records a moment that won’t happen again.
In our customers’ words
“These pendants look even better in person than they did in the photos online. They are absolutely beautiful and really complete the look of my new kitchen.”
“All 3 are unique as they’re hand made but similar enough where they look right in the space as a trio.”
“You can tell he takes pride in his art… The quality is outstanding.”
“Classy looking, well made, not as heavy as they look so didn’t need to further reinforce ceiling before hanging. A gorgeous addition to our kitchen!”

A studio built around Raku
For the past three years, we’ve built our studio around this unusually hands-on process. Multiple firings each week. Constant experimentation. The experience to guide an inherently unpredictable technique.
Lighting with the character of an individual object, made with your space in mind.

A planning app I built for designers and homeowners. So many people asked me how to space their lighting that I wanted to give them something more useful than an answer: a way to see it.
